SIRFF and Assessment

1. I have questions on how to file my MFR on SIRFF.  Who do I contact?

2. I forgot my SIRFF password.  What do I do?

Please use the “Forgot Password?” link from the SIRFF home page. You will be asked to enter your SIRFF Login Name. The system will generate a new password and send it to the email address associated with your account. [If this email address is not valid or if your account is disabled, you will receive an error message.]

If you cannot use the “Forgot Password?” link, please contact your Chief Financial Officer who has the necessary privileges to reset your password.

If you are the member firm's CFO, e-mail a request to reset your password to the SIRFF Administrators, Tracey Nattrass or Ouiam Bououda. The email must include your SIRFF Login Name.

3. I did not receive a SIRFF verification code email. Who do I contact?

All users will be prompted to enter a verification code, sent by email to the email address associated with the SIRFF user account, every 30 days or when logging in from a different IP address.

Please check your email spam/junk folder for the verification code email before generating a new code.

If a SIRFF user generates the verification code more than 3 times, the account is locked for 30 minutes. The account lock cannot be overridden.

If you require assistance with the verification code, please contact the following:

Member firm users: contact their Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officers and Auditors: contact Heather Barclay or Nellie Gomes

Other users: contact the SIRFF Administrators, Tracey Nattrass or Ouiam Bououda.

4. I forget my security question responses. Who do I contact?

Users must respond to security questions every time they log in. If you respond to your security questions incorrectly more than 5 times, your account will be locked for 30 minutes. The account lock cannot be overridden.

5. Why did I receive this message when logging into SIRFF, “You are unable to access the Securities Industry Regulatory Financial Filing (SIRFF) system from your current IP address.”?

6. I cannot add the email address domain when creating a SIRFF account. What do I do?

SIRFF maintains a list of safe email domains for each organization. In this example, [email protected], the email domain is user.ca.

When a user is created or updated, its email address must have an email domain from the safe list.

Please contact the SIRFF Administrators, Tracey Nattrass or Ouiam Bououda to add a safe domain.

7. How does CIPF inform members of the quarterly assessment amount members must pay to CIPF?

CIPF notifies each member CFO by e-mail when the CIPF quarterly assessment amount is available on SIRFF. The CFO can then log into SIRFF and view the assessment reports that detail the quarterly assessment calculation. The assessment is to be paid to IIROC with filing of the March, June, September and December Monthly Financial Reports (MFR).
